As Governor of Maryland, I am pleased to welcome the Friendship Caravan to our wonderful State.

The Friendship Caravan fosters greater understanding and respect through cultural events and educational programs. I applaud the good work this organization does to promote peace, friendship, and tolerance. Greater understanding is one of the keys to bringing people of different ethnicities and backgrounds together.

1 am confident that the Friendship Caravan's 2003 visit to Montgomery and Frederick Counties will be a fun educational, and valuable experience for all involved.
