The Concept

The mission of The Friendship Caravan, Inc. is threefold:

To promote grass roots people-to-people friendship and mutual respect, through events designed to attract local, national, and international media attention.

To promote models for courteous and effective communication among people of different religious backgrounds.

To bring hope and optimism for a better future to a world filled with fear and uncertainty.

Our premier 2005 event is Friendship Fest Morocco, a rock music festival set for May 6-8 in Marrakech, Morocco. Spearheaded by leaders inside the American evangelical Christian community and from the Kingdom of Morocco, Friendship Fest will be a 4-day high-profile celebration of shared values and friendship through music and dialogue that is anticipated will draw over 50,000 people daily from all over the world - including as many as 2000 Americans and a similar number of Europeans. Already numerous well-known Christian musical artists (Stacie Orrico, Toby Mac, Jeremy Camp, Phil Keaggy, Newsboys, and others) have agreed to go to Morocco without compensation, and top-drawer Moroccan contemporary and traditional groups will also participate.

Through Friendship Fest and other activities, the special focus will be on school children and university students in the USA and abroad. Many enjoyable activities will be developed to encourage awareness of children as conscientious citizens of the world.

The goal of our events is to provide a positive, hopeful response to the tragic attacks of September 11, 2001 and the war in Iraq. We will stimulate a rethinking of attitudes and expose misconceptions through highly adventuresome and educational events designed to attract extensive media exposure and to stimulate people-to-people communication.

Such an undertaking will be the most prominent event ever to promote friendship between these cultures that today might seem poised on the brink of endless civilizational conflict. Everyone's hope is that Friendship Fest Morocco will foster peace & friendship on a people-to-people level during these troubled times.
